Entities - Theater of gestures -

Entities - theater of gestures - is a stage performance that provides an overwhelming perceptual experience through the fine modulation of movement, light and sound.
Three dancers mold their movements through an excessive accumulation of gestures, gaps and the fleeting re-interpretation of fictional and real selfs. The abstract narration is slowly swallowed into an incessant modulation of flashes, colours and darkness. As the choreography on stage builds up to an overwhelming rhythm of images and absences, the music slowly breaks down into drone sounds, producing enveloping vibrations. What happens on stage is no longer in front nor in the mind of the viewer, it is rather the physical experience of being swallowed up into a whirling space of transcending realities.
The project Entities focuses on kinesthetic experience and creation of meanings, multidimensionality and the polyphormicity of the - sense of self - .

The project was presented at Weld (Stockholm) in April 2016 through two different works that address the audience in very distinct ways:
Entities - theater of gestures - a dance performance
Entities - immersion - an immersive installation
A third work will be presented in the fall 2016:
Entities - patterns of absence - a video work
Entities - theater of gestures - attempts to create a space in which kinesthetic experience and aesthetic form co-exist and interact. At its core stands the relation between audience, space and somatic sensation. It is a work in which performers, movement, music, sound and light act on an equal level, charging the room to such an extent that the viewer is swallowed up into a whirling space of transcending realities.
The work is developed trough a methodological process that aims at tweaking the space between the reenactment of embodied archives and the theatrical projection of these forms. The movement of the dancers is a persistent action, an on-going multiplication of the body while scattering the perception of the self. The result is an excessive accumulation of gestures, gaps and meanings. Fictional characters appear and mix with a series of (re)played - (re)lived - (re)interpreted - (re) invented self-portraits, creating a web of multiple possible stories and incomplete narratives.
Throughout the performance the whole room is swallowed into darkness, progressing towards an incessant modulation of flashes and colours. The choreography on stage becomes an overwhelming rhythm of images and absences, which are produced neither in front nor in the mind of the viewer, rather somewhere in between. The music slowly breaks down into drone sounds, as if wanting to pierce into new layers of memory. The droning turns into binaural beats of high and low frequencies, producing vibrations that envelop the whole room.
Entities - theater of gestures - is a liminal trembling cosmos. It is a choreography of constant motion from immediate bodily sensations to culturally meaningful gestures, in a room where the sensory inputs engender new layers of perceptions.
